U.S. Naval Academy Band - Soprano or Alto Vocalist
The United States Naval Academy Band announces an immediate vacancy for Soprano or Alto Vocalist to lead Popular Music Groups, Concert Band, Jazz Combo, Ceremonial Band, and perform as a solo vocalist. Applicants must demonstrate strong, versatile skills in the following areas:
• Vocal repertoire covering all popular musical styles including Rock, Pop, Funk, Country, R&B, and Motown.
• Stylistic range to perform in jazz and traditional choral/concert band settings.
• Ability to lead groups on small and large stages and entertain live and televised audiences. Must demonstrate confident stage personality, engaging charisma during performance, and the ability to deliver strategic messaging as Master of Ceremonies for Naval Academy Band events.
• Ability to read music and general knowledge of music theory.
Applicants must submit audio recordings and a one-page resume to auditions@usna.edu by Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11:59 p.m EST to be considered for this audition. The live audition is by invitation only, and will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025. The audition committee reserves the right to dismiss any candidate who does not meet our strict musical and professional criteria. All travel arrangements and expenses are the responsibility of the candidate. Active duty musicians from all branches of the U.S. military must also send a letter of endorsement from their Commanding Officer.
