We, the Thuringian Symphony Orchestra Saalfeld-Rudolstadt, are a traditional and versatile concert and theatre orchestra in the heart of Thuringia. T
he long history of our orchestra dates back to the Rudolstadt Court Orchestra, founded in 1635.
The orchestra in its present form was created from the merger of the Rudolstadt Theatre Orchestra and the Saalfeld Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to our large symphony concerts, festive castle concerts and a variety of concert formats for all ages and social classes, we strive to offer attractive and diverse programmes for children and young people.
The orchestra's tasks also include complementing our subscription series with musical theatre productions from the fields of opera, operetta, musical and ballet.

The audition will take place on 27 November 2025 by personal invitation.

For the audition, we ask you to prepare the following repertoire. All
orchestral parts can be found in the book "Orchester Probespiel" by Becker/Mandalka
(Schott Verlag).

J. Haydn: Concerto in D major, 1st movement to bar 77 and cadenza, 2nd movement to bar 32
