The Bern Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will be holding auditions for orchestral internships for the 2026/27 season in May and June.
Positions are vacant in these registers: violin, viola, violoncello, double bass, flute (with piccolo), oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone (with bass trombone), tuba, harp, percussion.
The internship comprises a maximum of 90 services over the entire season.
Admitted are students at Swiss Universities of Music with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Important notes on the procedure:

Audition date violoncello: 17.06.2026. Location: Bern. The venue will be announced at the moment of the invitation.
Please submit all requested documents. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.
For students of foreign citizenship: You must submit a valid residence permit. We also require written confirmation from your university of music confirming that the internship is an integral part of your studies. This confirmation must be submitted unsolicited to Bühnen Bern within one week of passing the audition.
All Students must be enrolled at a Swiss University of Music for the entire duration of the internship. The certificate of enrollment must be attached to the application.
For students from third countries: After a successful audition, Bühnen Bern requests the work permit from the Migration Office. The fees for issuing the permit (around CHF 200) will be charged by the Migration Office to the respective intern.

Tabular CV (continuous text cannot be accepted!) containing detailed info about your musical training and activities
Certificate of enrollment
Identity card or passport
Diplomas and certificates (as far as they are related to music studies or an orchestral activity)
Copy of valid work permit (applies for students from EU/EFTA countries)
