State Opera Plovdiv announces an audition for percussion (tutti). (100% jobshare)

Requirements for candidates:

1. Completed higher or secondary music education. 2. Experience and practice in ensemble music making.

The audition consists of two stages: Stage 1 ● Evaluation of a video recording of the required works from the mandatory repertoire list. ● The video recording must be submitted via email as a YouTube link by the 1st of September. Stage 2 ● Candidates selected for the second round will be invited to an interview. ● State Opera Plovdiv will notify successful candidates after the end of the audition process.

Audition repertoire: Video preselection

Solo Repertoire: 1. Snare drum - Jacques Delécluse: One Etude between Etude N.1, N.2 and N.3. 2. Xylophone - Etude or Concert piece of the candidate’s choice

Orchestral excerpts:

1. Xylophone - Gershwin: “Porgy and Bess”, Overture 2. Glockenspiel - Delibes: “Lakme”, N.10: “Glöckchen - Arie” 3. Snare drum - Rimsky-Korsakov: “Scheherazade”, parts III. and IV 4. Castanets – Ravel: “Alborada del gracioso” (5 bars before N. “4” to N.”4”). 5. Castanets – Wagner: “Tannhäuser”, Act 1, Bacchae (10 bars before N. “38” to the end) 6. Tambour de Basque – Bizet: “Carmen”, Act 2, N.12 “Zigeunerlied”
