The MA in Classical String Performance at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance is led by Principal players of the Irish Chamber Orchestra.
Students receive individual tuition, chamber coaching, orchestral training & mentorship, & perform in ensembles with ICO Principals.
Students also benefit from close contact to ICO visiting artists e.g. Jörg Widmann, Thomas Zehetmair, Carolin Widmann & Kristian Bezuidenhout.
The unique focus of this 2-year, full-time programme is developing embodied, integrated musicians. Along with weekly 90-minute individual lessons, chamber music, technique- and performance classes, the course offers intensive classes in Dalcroze, Baroque, New Music, Improvisation, Body Mapping etc.
Students automatically qualify for ICO Academy projects.
Study places starting in September '25 are still available & a limited number of Scholarships are on offer.
