As an internationally leading opera and ballet orchestra it collaborates with the Royal Danish Ballet, known for the world-renowned Bournonville tradition, and with the Royal Danish Opera. The orchestra’s repertoire each season consists of a wide-ranging program of operas, ballets, concerts and musicals in collaboration with a number of acclaimed conductors and the theatre’s Chief Conductor, Marie Jacquot.The music departmentThe Royal Danish Theatre is Denmark’s national theatre, and the music department is one of four artistic departments within this important institution for Danish society.The music department consists of the Royal Danish Orchestra, the Chief Conductor, and the music administration.
