The successful applicant will have the vision and ability to develop the outstanding educational and artistic successes of the department. You will be a performer of outstanding calibre, and a proven teacher and trainer of brass players at the highest level as well as an experienced and demanding ensemble director and coach. You will be a leader with fresh artistic vision, able to help students find their own voice and journey, broadening horizons beyond existing professional contexts, and encouraging collaboration and curiosity as part of the evolving musical landscape. You will have the ability to manage a cohesive and purposeful team of distinguished musicians and teachers and to instil an ethos of mutual support and ambition throughout the department. You will work closely with the Deputy Principal and other heads of departments to enhance the overall work of the Academy in solo performance, orchestral projects and chamber music. You will also be an effective ambassador for the department and the Academy, who can recruit the very best students and staff.
