To provide high-quality piano accompaniment and musical support across the school’s curricular and extra-curricular performing arts programmes. The Accompanist in Residence will work closely with music staff to enhance students’ musical development, support rehearsals and performances, and contribute to the artistic life of the school through expert collaboration, coaching, and performance preparation. Provide outstanding piano accompaniment for all school concerts, performances, competitions and auditions as required. Knowledge of vocal rep is useful. • Provide accompaniments to students for recording purposes and marketing opportunities. • Provide regular piano accompaniment and performance practice sessions to Key Stage 4 and 5 students and ensure that accompaniments and aural skills for students are in-line with their current targets. • Piano accompanist for Trinity/ABRSM/LAMDA examinations (Currently ABRSM examinations run throughout the year, Trinity three times a year and LAMDA once a year) • Work alongside teaching staff to help deliver outstanding lessons in the Music Department where appropriate. • Support theory lessons and aural training as agreed. • Some timetabled piano lessons where appropriate and depending on demand and student needs. • Intensive rehearsal practice for those students who will be auditioning for music college and then accompanying those students in their final recordings. Have the relevant qualifications (a degree from a recognised Music College) • Be talented and highly motivated Be willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the College’s vision, including extra-curricular activities. • Passion for the performing arts and an understanding of the unique needs of artists and production teams. • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during performance periods.
