Berkshire Music Trust is the leading provider of musical education across Berkshire. As an independent & inclusive children’s charitable trust, our aim is to provide children & young people with high quality musical education. As an independent and inclusive organisation, we are looking for practitioners who are passionate about sharing their expertise and motivating the next generation through music. Our work spans a wide variety of activities, from 1:1 and small group lessons to whole class teaching, community groups, and more. Part time or full time. We are looking for musicians and graduates who are looking to develop their teaching to join our music practitioner scheme where we will train you in all aspects of working in a music hub. Following specialisms preferred: Contemporary – either guitar, keys or music production, a willingness to learn other contemporary instruments – essential. Woodwind – any specialism but flute/oboe/ bassoon preferred. (Willingness to learn to teach other woodwind instruments essential.) Our music practitioner scheme is designed for musicians or recent graduates who would like to develop teaching in all aspects of a music hub role – this includes teaching individuals, small groups, whole class music, ensembles, and inclusion work. You will have a reduced teaching timetable, a mentor, time for training and there is the option to take a teaching qualification in the second year of the programme. Your training and timetable will be discussed with you so that you have a bespoke programme enabling you to develop your interests in music education. This can be a full time or part time post.
