VCM 2026 – The Concert for the Marathon

Music and running come together in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein Wien: The Wiener Symphoniker, in collaboration with the Vienna City Marathon, invite you to the Concert for the Marathon on the day before the 42 km race.
Participants of the VCM 2026 can apply to actively take part in the concert and become part of this unforgettable musical experience.
Under the baton of conductor and marathon runner Tobias Wögerer, a varied program will be presented in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein Wien.

The Wiener Symphoniker are looking for
the following instruments to participate in the Concert for the Marathon on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein Wien:
Violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, and percussion
Participation in the Concert for the Marathon requires active registration for the Vienna City Marathon 2026 and a high level of proficiency on your instrument. To apply, please submit a video recording of a piece of your choice with excellent sound quality.
Participation in the concert includes two rehearsals on April 17, 2026.
As a token of appreciation for their commitment, selected musicians will be reimbursed for their Vienna City Marathon entry fee.
Each participating musician may invite one accompanying person to attend the concert free of charge.
