4th Alberto Lysy International Violin Competition
8 - 10 Oct, 2026 Gstaad, Switzerland
Created to promote young violinists from around the world and honour the legacy of the great violinist Alberto Lysy, the competition has become an international platform for emerging talents under 28.
The upcoming 4th edition will feature a prestigious final with the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra and will offer winners a total of 18,000 CHF in prizes, a four-year loan of an exceptional Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume violin, and concert opportunities at renowned festivals such as the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, the NUME Festival (Cortona, Italy), and the Festival Le Bois qui Chante (Château-d’Oex).
All rounds are open to the public and take place in Gstaad.

Adelina Oprean — Violin Professor at the Music Academy Basel
Philippe Graffin — Concert violinist, Professor at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris and Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel
Raphaël Oleg — Violinist, violist, conductor, and Professor at the Music Academy Basel since 1995
Ettore Causa — Concert violist, Professor at the Yale School of Music
Daniel Geiss — Cellist and conductor, coordinator of the Gstaad String Academy 2026 and conductor of the Gstaad Youth Orchestra.
