Lake District Music invites applications from string quartets for our 2026 Emerging Musicians Programme, a career-shaping opportunity for outstanding young ensembles. Since 1985, our festival has supported over 1,600 musicians, offering world-class training in the inspirational setting of the Lake District.

Two string quartets will be selected to join us for the 2026 Summer Festival, receiving performances, masterclasses with leading international artists, professional video recordings, entrepreneurial training, free accommodation, and a £1,200 contribution toward festival expenses.

Applications close on 1 February 2026. First-round video submissions are followed by live auditions in London and Manchester in late February. We welcome ensembles ready to take the next step in their professional journey.
